DROPDOWNLIST - You want to show the name, not the id. Me too. That's how I did it.

Straight to the point.

        First, I was studying the tutorial. And was working with treelist. This is no good for me. So, I asked myself,  how do make this dropdownlist show the name? The standard answer is, "YOU SHOULD USE VIRTUAL FIELD". And I found it really annoying. So, I found out this solution.

        //You write this in your controller

        $query = $this->Articles->Categories->find('all', array('fields' => array('id', 'name')));
        foreach($query as $row)
        {
            $id = $row['id'];

If you are using SQL keywords as table column names, you can enable identifier quoting for your database connection in config/app.php.

SQL Query:

INSERT INTO categories (lft, rght) VALUES (:c0, :c1)
If you want to customize this error message, create src\Template\Error\pdo_error.ct

SOLUTION

The parent_id was created as not null, make it nullable.

There are many reasons for this.

First

You named your connection with a fancy name. Example IggyAzaleia.10-78-5_12_WTF.
Solution : Connections must have simple names. No points, no dashes. Example Connection01

Second

You are updating a DTSX package, and suddenly you receive this dammned error. The message says that it is impossible to logging.

In this case there some possibilities
        The user you your using is blocked. There were so many errors that the user you are using in the connection string was blocked.
        When you update the DTSX, the connection you have entered loses the password. Fill the connection string again and don't forget the password. It seems that everything is ok (but IIS IS LYING!)

And that is it.

Hi!

If you are like me, and always have problems to remember how git hubs work. Here we go.

In my case a logged in the website github.com and created a repo.

Then, cloned it. To clone is just o sync the repo with your local computer. It will create a directory on computer. Where? In my case

C:\Users\daniel

Once it worked.

O go into the folder (cd .... )

I copy everything that I wanted to the directory.

git add *.*  (add everything baby)

and then

git push

It's done.

It's simple, isn't it?

But it seems that depending on how you begin to create your repo, the sequence always change and the variations also seem infinite.

MongDB Shell not working on Windows

You have just installed MongoDB and the shell is not working?

Solution

Computer > Properties > Advanced system settings > Environment variables > Path

Edit path

Add the path of MongoDB
My path is like that
;C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\3.2\bin
OK

Go to prompt windows
type
echo %PATH%
Check if the path you have just added is there.
If it is, you are done.

Restart your computer.

Try it again.

You should use sqlcmd.exe using dos prompting to execute large sql files (GREATER THEN 1gb)

Whenever I have to execute a huge file, I use sqlcmd.exe via dos.

My strategy is

STEP 1

Create a specific user for that - something like USR_TOUGH_GUY

OWNED SCHEMAS
db_accessadmin

ROLE MEMBERS
db_accessadmin

STEP 2

Find the executable sqlcmd.exe in the machine where SQL SERVER is installed.

STEP 3

Execute
sqlcmd -S myServer\instanceName -U USR_TOUGH_GUY -P THE_PASSWORD_OF_MR_TOUGH_GUY  -i  C:\yourscript.sql


STEP 4

Disable mr TOUGH_GUY

Final considerations

You could do this using the SQLStudio but it will consume a lot of memory of the machine, if you are, for instance, trying to execute a 4GB file.
